Have you ever thought, ‘I’d really like to travel more’ or ‘I’d like to try a new hobby’ or ‘This year I need to save money’? We all have similar thoughts, don’t we? This desire to set goals but at the same time this feeling of frustration. Well, I was thinking that maybe creating a vision board was what I needed.”
Creating a vision board can be an inspiring way to visualize your goals and aspirations, aligning them with your values and passions. Let’s see how to start:
- Clarify Your Vision
- Identify key areas of your life: Reflect on what aspects you want to focus on (e.g., career, education, health, relationships, personal growth). Personally, I chose the following areas: finance, health, relationships, new hobbies, education, and personal growth.
- Set specific goals: Think about what you want to achieve in each area.
- Gather Inspiration
- Use magazines or digital platforms: Find images, words, and quotes that resonate with your vision. This can include photos, articles, or symbols that represent your aspirations.
- Choose a Format
- Traditional board: Use a corkboard or poster to pin your images and quotes.
- Digital board: Platforms like Canva or Pinterest allow you to create a virtual vision board, which is easier to modify and update. Personally, I chose Canva.
- Incorporate Affirmations or Quotes (if you want)
- Positive statements: Add powerful affirmations or quotes that inspire action and resilience. I love book quotes, so I will post a quote from The Little Prince right next to my vision board. I will also translate the quote into different languages, simply because I speak multiple languages, and each language gives me a different sense of that quote.
5. Display It Prominently
- Place it where you can see it daily: A visible spot helps keep you motivated and focused on your goals.
- Revisit and update: As you grow or your goals shift, adapt your vision board to reflect new aspirations.
This process will help you stay connected to your objectives and maintain focus on the areas that matter most to you.
